TCNC sponsors numerous educational opportunities which benefit all segments of the Turfgrass Industry. North Carolina State University is the principle education partner of the Turfgrass Council. The NCSU Turfgrass Faculty members serve as authors and presenters for numerous publications and events.
North Carolina Turfgrass is the official publication of TCNC. Each issue of this magazine contains timely turfgrass management articles and other in-depth information from the NCSU Turfgrass Faculty and other nationally prominent authorities. Current news and events are also covered. The magazine is published six times each year.
The Annual NCSU Turfgrass Field Day alternates between the Lake Wheeler Turfgrass Field Lab in Raleigh and the Sandhills Research Station near Jackson Springs. It is held the second Wednesday in August and showcases the nationally recognized research programs at NCSU.
The North Carolina Turfgrass Conference & Show provides both lecture presentations and hands-on workshops for turfgrass managers and administrators. The NCSU Faculty is joined by experts from other Colleges and Universities to provide the best educational programs available. Expert turfgrass managers serve as lecture and panelist presenters to showcase their successful programs and provide peer based education. The Conference originated with NCSU and is the center piece of the partnership between NCSU and TCNC. The Trade Show held in conjunction with the Conference provides an opportunity for turfgrass managers to visit with vendors throughout the industry and network with their peers.
The Western NC Turfgrass Conference is held annually in March. This one day event provides a convenient educational opportunity for turfgrass managers in the western piedmont and mountain regions of the state.
The NC Turfgrass Short Course is designed to provide basic information to new professional turfgrass managers, and review and update for experienced turf managers. The course is taught once each year during the February/March time frame.
