Purpose
The Turfgrass Council strives to monitor government activity that may have an affect on the Turfgrass Industry in North Carolina. The Turfgrass Council seeks to foster relationships between the Turfgrass Industry in North Carolina and governmental and allied agencies that can help anticipate legislation that may affect Turfgrass Council members, or promote opportunities for support of the Turfgrass Industry from outside sources.
How Members Can Participate
The Turfgrass Council encourages its members to participate in government relations in several ways that either directly or indirectly promote the Turfgrass Industry in North Carolina.
- Do good work. Your work reflects an entire industry.
- Educate consumers and industry on proper turfgrass management.
- Be outspoken about the benefits of turfgrass in North Carolina.
- Participate in community/city/county, regional, and state events directed at environmental, agricultural, and agribusiness issues.
- Pay your Turfgrass Council dues and give to the NC Turfgrass Enhancement Fund
a. These funds help to maintain our industry’s relationship with lawmakers and agencies that are shaping the future of turfgrass in the state of North Carolina.
- Give feedback to Turfgrass Council board members about issues in your community.
