NCCTP Certification... and Short Course
Short Course and NCCTP Certification have historically been linked. But in recent weeks, changes have been made to how they're managed. Here are the details:

NCCTP Certification is a TCNC program. Candidates can enroll, and take the exam at any time and many candidates opt to "self-Study" rather than prepare for their exam through classes like Short Course.

To earn your NCCTP designation you must be a TCNC member, enrolled in the NCCTP program, and complete an 8 section exam. In addition to membership, there is a $150 enrollment fee for the program, along with a $50 material fee, and a $50 exam fee. Successful candidates are billed a $50 NCCTP renewal fee each year.

ALL funds raised through the NCCTP program are put back into the program, and NCCTPs enjoy wide-spread promotion as the experts in our industry. For more information on earning your designation call TCNC at (919) 380-9446.

The NCSU Short Course is a turfgrass basics program taught by NCSU faculty for one week each winter. This year's Short Course is Feb. 22-26 in Raleigh.

While the course has historically been used as a "preparatory" class for exam candidates, it does not identically mirror NCCTP exam content. The fee for NCSUs Short Course is $495 and additional information and registration details can be obtained through NCSU. Contact Dan Bowman by calling (919) 515-2085.
